WAFER BAKING OVEN 60 PLATES 350x500mm (AWBO-60500)
The fully automatic baking ovens of the AWBO series are used for the industrial production of flat/hollow wafers and are specially designed to meet rough operating conditions. The modular construction of the machine allows a subsequent increase in capacity by an increase in the number of baking tongs up to 112.

Baking plates:
Special alloy casting with a high-tensile cast structure. The selection of the alloy components and the casting procedure ensure dimensional stability, a homogeneous and dense surface, heat stability, good heat accumulation characteristics and excellent thermal conductivity.
CNC-controlled grinding machines are used to form the reeded-structure of the baking plates.
The baking surface is protected and sealed by an additional hard chrome plating. The adherence of baking residues is thereby largely prevented, cleaning intervals are considerably prolonged and easy removal of the wafer sheets is ensured.
Baking tongs:
The baking plates are supported by an extremely rugged and solid tong frame. This ensures that the thickness of the wafer sheet is kept constant over its entire surface with an accuracy of +/- 0.3 mm. Adjusting bushes are fitted for the uncomplicated adjustment of the wafer sheet thickness.
Each baking tong is equipped with four carriage rollers with thermally stabilized ball bearings. All bearings are provided with grease nipples.
Baking Tong Locking System:
The baking tong is locked by a rotary movement of the stainless steel locking bolt: A slotted link operates the hardened hammer head of the locking bolt and causes it to engage the back side of the counter plates of the tong’s upper part.
Extremely solid and largely maintenance-free design locking and unlocking mechanisms ensure a safe operation.
Heating system:
Highly efficient gas burners with excellent combustion efficiency ensure optimal heat distribution over the complete baking surface.
The energy-saving Z-shaped burners use either natural gas or propane/butane gas (LPG).
The heating system is controlled by the frequency-controlled primary air fan which keeps the system at the selected baking temperature. Main burner far end control ensures safe operation.
Insulated burner room:
The burners arranged in the center of the baking machine are separated from the outer area by additional bulkheads to concentrate the heat in the middle of the machine. By the help of the non-combustible fire walls integrated in the burning room, hot combustion gases are passed between the baking plates and the shielded carrier rollers, which are located externally and run in the considerably cooler outer zone.
Temperature control equipment:
The contactless measurement of the baking plate temperature is performed by means of an infra-red radiation probe.
Batter depositing station:
Electronically controlled non-drip dosing pump for exactly positioned batter depositing with adjustable batter depositing volume. A quick-release lock enables easy replacement of the batter gun (depositor) even during operation.
Enclosed exhaust hood at the batter depositing station.
Emergency-Stop pull-wire in the area of the batter depositing station for safety purpose.
Baking tong chain tensioning:
Separately adjustable on right and left-hand side; pneumatically actuated for automatic compensation of alterations in the baking tong chain length resulting from heating-up or cooling-down procedures, respectively.
Wafer sheet take-off system:
Take-off star for automatic transfer of the wafer sheets to a take away conveyor with cleaning device for the removal of baking residues.
Scrap removal system with raised discharge end:
A scraping bar chain installed beneath and moving along the entire length of the baking oven removes any baking residues. The end of the scrap conveyor is raised in order to transfer the baking waste into a wheeled tray easily.
Chimney system:
It has hand-adjustable flap valves and frequency-controlled high-performance exhaust fans in temperature- resistant design which are interlocked to prevent the oven being operated inadvertently when they are not operating.
Main drive:
Infinitely variable baking time control by means of frequency-controlled three-phase drive.
Insulating enclosure:
Both sides of the automatic baking machine are executed in form of side-hung doors. Tightly closing, side-hung doors provide max. heat insulation with special non-combustible materials inside.
Service doors at the rear end of the oven:
Easy access to the baking tong chain for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
SHEET COOLING MACHINE (WSC-M)
Wafer sheet coolers of the WSC type are fabricated in the form of an arch to allow operating personnel to walk through the production plant without hindrance.
The wafer sheet coolers are used for stress-free cooling of flat wafer sheets at ambient temperature after baking and before spreading.

CREAM SPREADING MACHINE (SINGLE COLOR) (CSM-S)
Film type spreading machines CSM type are used for automatic spreading of wafer sheets with fat creams and for sandwiching the creamed sheets to wafer books. Up to 50 sheets/min can be processed.

Wafer sheet distribution station distributes wafer sheets to be spread, and topping sheets, in the proper
quantities, for the product being manufactured.
Wafer sheet stacking station located at the entrance of the machine. Its smooth sequence of movements
throughout the stacking operation guarantees an extremely gentle handling of the wafer sheets in case the
production is interrupted - a key advantage particularly to minimize the wafer sheet losses during operation.
Cream recirculation system located under the spreading head carries the unused cream back to the spreader
hopper - a key advantage particularly to minimize the cream losses during operation.
Book forming by electronically controlled and pneumatically/servo activated arms with large-surface support
of the wafer sheets and adjustable lateral guides.
Wafer book composition (number of wafer and cream layers) variable
Cover sheet station with ejection system. Quality control via corresponding sensors for stopping the
machine in case missing cover sheet coming from the top. The system can also be manually activated for
ejection the broken wafer books during operation.
Pressing roller after the cover sheet station ensures uniform product height and homogeneous spreading.
The device is equipped with an adjustable pressure roller for processing the entire surface of the wafer book homogeneously. With the correctly dosed pressure, the cream flows into the depressions in the wafer sheet as the pressure roller acts on the entire surface.
Check weigher device with ejection system for monitoring book weight and manually regulation of the cream application to achive constant wafer book weights. CREAM COOLING TUNNEL (WBC-M)
The WBC cooling tunnels are used for continuous cooling of cream-filled wafer books. Cream-filled wafer books are cooled so that the cream filling sets sufficiently for cutting and packing. Cooling the wafer books ensures a clean cut.
The capacity of the wafer book coolers depends on the plant performance and the product-specific cooling time. The cooling time is set between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the product. The wafer books are placed in the brackets of an endless carrier chain and are cooled during their transport through the tower.
The coolers are made largely of high-grade stainless steel, especially the machine frame, the carrier chain and all parts which come into contact with the product.
The insulating enclosure is made of high-grade steel elements filled with polyurethane hard foam. Swing doors allow easy access for inspection and cleaning. The viewing windows in the doors are used to monitor production.

WAFER CUTTING MACHINE (SINGLE HEAD) (WCM-T)
The WCM wafer book cutters cut the wafer books discharged from the wafer book cooler to smaller wafer fingers in the desired size. Version for cutting up to 12 wafer sandwiches per minute. The use of two independent motors for the first and second cut allows independent speed optimization of the two cutting carriages. The totally new machine concept guarantees fully automatic production even at a high plant capacity.
The wafers are cut by fixed cutting wires or steel blades fitted onto exchangeable frames. The cutters can be adapted quickly and easily to other product sizes by changing the cutting frames.
